Surrender
Surrender is almost a smell
on the tips of her naked fingers:
faded soap, sun, friendly innocence.
The man is coaxed from
his anxious cove. Heart squeezing,
sniffs and shivers. Desire pulls
and braves up, improvising fate.
In the comedy of sexes, woman
is the one with friendly fingers
dangling from the boat.
Man the curious minnow, mouthing
warily, growing familiar with those darting
rays of light. Finally takes her
small and bright. Pretending happenchance...
rehearsal of romance.
The perfect she: finger signals,
nonchalant.
He wants it innocent, assured.
A sleeveless sleight of hand.
